FactoryTalk® Historian creates a solid foundation for capturing the data you need to improve operations. This suite of software products covers your needs from a single machine (FactoryTalk Historian Machine Edition) to a plant-wide system (FactoryTalk Historian Site Edition). It also expands to your global business using our Global Business History strategy. Powerful reporting and trending tools provide critical insight into performance parameters and are available at high speed and full resolution from any control system or Human Machine Interface (HMI) software.

The FactoryTalk® Historian Site Edition (SE) application provides you with data capture, management and analysis capabilities to help generate improved decisions. Plant supervisors can view personal historical data for machines, processing equipment or production lines as needed. Production supervisors can analyze batch operations at individual sites based on enterprise-wide enterprise production parameters. Business managers can compare KPIs between locations. The application quickly finds and corrects sources of inefficiency. This helps you manage manufacturing consistency, energy usage, first pass quality and other factors that can improve your bottom line.

• Perfect integration with FactoryTalk® and Integrated Architecture™ means intimate knowledge of user-defined data structures (UDTs), which can be translated into asset definitions in the Asset Framework and brought into VantagePoint EMI models for reporting.

• Asset frames and event frames provide context and time series data collected in PI archives.

• VantagePoint provides a front-end wizard for configuring Historian SE data points. Browse available Logix controllers, select a tag or UDT template of interest, and create data points in Historian with default scan rates, compression, and exception filtering.

FactoryTalk® Historian Machine Edition (ME) provides high-speed, reliable data capture, enabling manufacturers to achieve continuous process improvement goals. Excellent reliability is achieved through a robust design that is inflight-ready and has no moving parts. The limited software footprint requires no servers or PCs, significantly reducing the risk of data loss due to network or other system outages, making the device an ideal location for remote or difficult-to-service repairs.
