Shanxi Unicom designed and deployed an underground 5G network for the Pangpangta Coal Mine. At about 21:00 on June 5, the final commissioning was completed and it was officially put into operation. This marks the successful deployment of the country's first underground 5G commercial network at a depth of 800 meters and covering 100 kilometers of roadways.

Pangpangta Coal Mine is a mine of Shanxi Coking Coal Huozhou Coal and Electricity Group, with a planned production capacity of more than 10 million tons. It is one of the national intelligent standard mine pilots. In this project, the technicians completed and opened the construction of the 5G ring network in the Pangpangta mine, and built a super-converged high-quality network integrating 4G, 5G and cellular networks, and realized one network management. All system data is transmitted through one network. Transmission, the measured network bandwidth reaches more than 50G, and the minimum transmission delay reaches 10ms.

Explosion-proof high-definition cameras, VR high-definition cameras, PLC controllers, sensors and other equipment are deployed underground. Under extremely harsh conditions such as dusty, flammable and explosive, humid environment, dim light, and long distance between base stations, JENET 5G industrial gateway has built video collection, intelligent analysis, comprehensive perception, 3D display, equipment health management , remote control and VR high-definition live broadcast and other smart applications. The construction covers 100 kilometers of roadways, and is the first fully-scale underground 5G commercial network in China.
